COURSE DESCRIPTION/OBJECTIVE:

This two day course about one of the fastest growing advanced procedures for improving skin health, addressing signs of aging, and reducing acne scarring, is Microneedling. This course provides a balance of theory, live demonstration, and hands-on practice under direct instructor supervision.

day one - THEORY/demonstration

  • Understand the history and development of microneedling.

  • Demonstrate competency in treatment protocols.

  • Indications and contraindications

  • Pre and post care instruction

  • Demo – Students observe a technician performing treatments from start to finish.

Day two - hands on practice

  • Students must bring 2 Live Models/ on peers of varying Fitzpatrick skin types and conditions.

  • All procedures are performed in a supervised Med Spa under the direct guidance of a licensed esthetics instructor.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify the history, development, and technology behind microneedling devices.

  2. Apply appropriate product usage protocols and treatment guidelines.

  3. Recognize indications and contraindications for microneedling.

  4. Demonstrate knowledge of pre-care and post-care instructions for clients.

  5. Compare microneedling with other skin therapies and determine when each is indicated.

  6. Observe and analyze a complete microneedling treatment performed by an instructor.

  7. Safely and effectively perform microneedling treatments on at least 2 live models or on peers with varying Fitzpatrick skin types and conditions, under instructor supervision.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Each class is limited to 4 students. Please arrive 15 minutes early; late arrivals cannot participate. Full payment is due at registration. Cancellations made seven days in advance receive a full refund, while those made later are subject to a 50% fee. No refunds are given for no-shows. CEU certificates are issued only after both days of class and all client/model requirements are completed, and can be picked up on the final day. Attendance on both days is required. Exceptions are at the discretion of management.
